Four men take to the stage. Two are highly skilled, experienced dancers who have performed in theatres across Australia. Two have no dance training whatsoever and have been selected from a group of likely lads in Canberra.

Sing a song! Be a cat that gets electrocuted! Fall down in slow motion! Each performer good humouredly executes a series of set tasks. The complex, refined movements one can do with ease, another can only approximate.

Not your average contemporary dance experience, Untrained offers a rare and funny insider's view into dance as an art form – and at the same time reveals a touching, intimate portrait of each man's character.

The highly influential Lucy Guerin has built her reputation on movement invention and choreographic structure. Untrained comes to Canberra in 2011 following sold out shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Hong Kong.
