The Red Shoes is the work of internationally acclaimed choreographer Simon Dow, featuring the talented dancers of West Australian Ballet. Based on the 1948 movie, The Red Shoes is one of the greatest dance stories of our time and tells the tale of a beautiful ballerina torn between her two passions - ballet and the man she loves.
The director of a famous dance company hires a brilliant composer and a gifted young dancer to work on his new masterpiece The Red Shoes.
The ballet director becomes infatuated with the dancer and is fanatical in his ambition for her to succeed - ambition she shares. When she falls in love with the charismatic composer, a jealous triangle unfolds.
